The Social, Nottingham

Previously known as The Social, the bar was renamed in September 2007 in order to acknowledge the history and heritage of the building and its previous owners. Built in 1901 by The Bodega Wine Company, the building was known as The Bodega for more than 80 years, before being renamed by previous owners in 1988.

Now recognised as the "coolest bar in Nottingham", The Bodega Social Club, in Nottingham's trendy Hockley area, is famed for catching successful bands on the cusp of superstardom and international media exposure. With this they offer their customers a more personal experience with the band in an intimate show. The Social has hosted everyone from Coldplay and The White Stripes through to Arctic Monkeys. The venue attracts all the up and coming new acts that pass through Nottingham, playing to small enthusiastic audiences of genuine music fans. It has played host to, amongst many others, some of the first UK gigs by: Starsailor, The Strokes, The White Stripes and The Scissor Sisters.

As well as hosting hugely popular gigs, the venue is also a well renowned club. On the back of a glittering reputation it has attracted residencies from some of London’s finest club nights such as Guilty Pleasures.

The Bodega Social Club has a capacity of 330 and has previously been voted best classic bar (regional) in Theme magazine.
