Based in Bristol, The Thekla is a venue, bar and kitchen based on board a ship moored in Bristol's Mud Dock. Already holding an enviable reputation for innovative club nights, the venue's layout offers customers a unique experience for both gigs and club nights. It is one of the city's best loved clubs and has even been graced with a piece of original Banksy graffiti on the hull. Hosting various nights from jungle to break beats to contemporary indie and dance, the crowd attracted is a good mix.

 The music venue has a capacity of over 350 and hosts live bands and club nights. It is open seven days a week and also runs as a cafe bar throughout the day and into the evening.

The Thekla is already proving to be immensely popular since opening in October 2006. Already exceeding expectations, The Thekla saw 10,000 people through its doors on gig and club nights in the first month along and has hosted secret gigs from the likes of Crowded House and James Blunt. This year (2007), it has been shortlisted for an industry BEDA Award, which recognises the best in the Entertainment and Dance Industry.
